As president of the Grantham Historical Society, I am very pleased to welcome you to our new Web site. The historical society is dedicated to preserving the history of our town from its founding to the present and — perhaps — sometimes trying to predict the future. This Web site is a work in progress, and we’ll hope you come back and visit us, both online and in person, often.

Grantham Historical Society remembers the Grantham Mountain fire of 1953. Do you? Stop in at the historical society to see some old and new photos of the fire, read the some interesting facts about the fire and, best of all, sign our “Memory Book.” We want you to write, briefly or not, about memories you have of the fire.
Too young to remember the actual fire? Maybe you heard stories from your family or friends about the fire? Tell us! The “Memory Book” is a three-ring binder with loose leaf pages. If you wish, you can write your memories at home on your own paper and then bring it to the historical society. We would love to see you!
