As president of the Grantham Historical Society, I am very pleased to welcome you to our new Web site. The historical society is dedicated to preserving the history of our town from its founding to the present and — perhaps — sometimes trying to predict the future. This Web site is a work in progress, and we’ll hope you come back and visit us, both online and in person, often. 

Allen Walker

The Association of Historical Societies of New Hampshire annually gives awards to individuals and societies who have provided outstanding service to their local society or have initiated unique programs and projects. Allen W. Walker, longtime president of GHS, was awarded a Certificate of Achievement by AHSNH on Saturday, Oct. 27, at the New London Historical Society.

“Allen W. Walker has been the heart of Grantham for 87 years. He is respected. He is loved. His lifelong contributions to our community are truly worthy.
